"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." — Proverbs 22:6

Core Kingdom Truth

The best investment you can make isn't in your own growth — it's in someone else's.

Devotional

She was thirty-two when her mentor invested in her in the way that actually changed her.

Not the formal mentoring — the informal access. The inclusion in conversations she hadn't earned. The honest feedback delivered with genuine care. The belief in her potential before she could fully see it herself.

When Jennifer turned forty, she did the math: in the eight years since that investment, she could identify at least seven professionals whose careers had been meaningfully shaped by her deliberate investment in them.

She hadn't planned it that way. She'd just started doing what had been done for her.

Proverbs 22:6 is typically applied to parenting, but the principle extends: when you invest in someone the right way, in the right season, in the way they're designed to grow — it sticks. It outlasts you.

The marketplace is full of talented professionals who could change the next generation's trajectory if they'd stop being too busy to invest deliberately.

What was given to you needs to go somewhere. The most faithful thing you can do with what you've received is give it away.

This Week's Practice

Who is one person in your professional sphere who reminds you of yourself at an earlier stage? Reach out this week. Not to mentor formally — just to open a door. One conversation can change a trajectory.

Closing Prayer

Father, make me a multiplier. Let the investment made in me flow through me into others. Help me give what I was given — freely, faithfully, and for Your Kingdom.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
