Anchor Scripture
"And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others." — 2 Timothy 2:2
Core Kingdom Truth
Your greatest legacy isn't what you build — it's who you build into.
Devotional
Rachel had 4,200 LinkedIn followers and a growing personal brand in her industry. She posted consistently, got solid engagement, and was building something real.
Then her former mentor asked her a question that reoriented everything: "Who are you developing right now the way I developed you?"
Rachel went quiet. She could name her content metrics instantly. She couldn't name a single person she was intentionally investing in.
Her mentor hadn't given her a platform. He'd given her time. Honest feedback when it was uncomfortable. Access to his thinking. He'd brought her into rooms she hadn't earned yet and trusted her before she deserved it.
2 Timothy 2:2 is Paul passing the baton to Timothy — and telling Timothy to pass it forward. The Christian tradition is built on this chain of deliberate investment. Not content. Not platforms. People, entrusted to people, who entrust to people.
Rachel identified a junior colleague who reminded her of herself at 25. She invited her to coffee. Started meeting monthly. Three years later, that colleague credits Rachel as the most significant influence on her career.
The platform didn't produce that. The investment did.
This Week's Practice
Identify one person you could intentionally invest in — a direct report, a peer, someone younger in your field. Reach out this week. Start small. Start now.
Closing Prayer
Father, shift my focus from building platforms to building people. Show me who You've placed in my path to invest in. Help me give what was given to me.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
