Excellent work, done without pride and offered to God, is one of the most powerful forms of witness in the marketplace.

He was the best writer on the team. Everyone knew it.

What was less obvious was why he worked the way he did — the attention to craft, the extra revision when no one asked for it, the refusal to ship something he didn't fully stand behind.

A colleague finally asked: "You care so much about this. Why?"

His answer was simple: "I believe God gave me this ability. I'd be embarrassed to waste it."

Proverbs 22:29 connects skill to visibility — the person skilled in their work eventually serves before kings. Sustained excellence creates its own platform. Not self-promotion. Just the accumulated evidence of someone who consistently does the work well.

Excellence as worship isn't about performance. It's about stewardship — bringing the best of what you were given back to the One who gave it. The careful work. The extra effort. The standard held even when no one would have noticed.

That witness accumulates. And it opens conversations that nothing else can.

Choose one piece of work this week to do with deliberate excellence — not to impress, but as an offering. Bring the best of what you have to it. Let it be an act of worship.

Lord, let my work reflect Your craftsmanship. Help me bring excellence to everything I do — as an offering to You, a witness to others, and a stewardship of what You gave me.
